My Pumpkin – EASY!

I looked for an easy pumpkin project to make with my little ones after sharing our Pumpkin Poem [POST] and this is it!  Easy – cute as can be – a winner!  I always appreciate projects that I want to display after we’re finished…and these are just that cute.

All you need is the following:

  • a paper bag
  • some filler (we used grocery plastic bags in one and paper towels in the other.)
  • string
  • leaves (real or green construction paper)
  • facial features (black construction paper, or a combination of both!)
  • and of course – orange paint   I used Melissa and Doug’s washable poster paint.

Stuff your paper bags and then tie with a string.

paint – paint – paint!
We left to top (stem) brown.

Next we cut shapes out of black construction paper and leaves out of the green paper.
It was decided that the mouth would be drawn on with a marker.  This artist has very specific ideas.

Sister Caroline also joined in by painting her own pumpkins!

Our pumpkins made a lovely display with Bernice’s family (See the Sophie’s Squash Post)

Bottom line – it doesn’t take a lot of materials or much time – just a little effort,
to create a legacy moment together.

Enjoy!
